Karen (Koch) Basham (former lap counter & pit board painter, 1993-95). BA English (1995). After graduation, she moved to Ft. Wayne, IN, and now lives in the country north of Columbia City, IN, with husband Shawn and daughter Sidney (5-1/2). Karen had been a technical writer for about 12 years, working part-time for the last 4 years, which affords her some time to be webmaster of the Cycledelics website as well as co-editor of the Cycledelic Flyer with her sister, Cheryl Koch Martinez. She also enjoys gardening, drawing, taking pictures, and working/playing on the computer. She can be contacted at bashams@hotmail.com.

Cheryl Koch Martinez (former rider,1992-1995). Graduated in 1995 with a BA in Criminal Justice, area certificate in Environmental Studies, minor in German. Moved to Phoenix, AZ, where she obtained a law degree at Arizona State University (JD, 1998). She currently resides in Tempe, AZ, with husband Ricardo and 8-year-old son Max. She changed jobs (Sept. 05) and now works as the Manager of the Office of Human Rights (Div of Behavioral Health Svcs.) Previously she was a staff attorney with the Arizona Center for Disability Law (1-1/2 years), where she represented people with mental health issues and engaged in civil litigation to improve the delivery of mental health services throughout the state. She was also employed by the Gila River Indian Community as a prosecuting attorney (3 years). Her focus was on prosecuting crimes committed against children. Prior to that, she was a legal aid attorney assisting farm workers with employment-related legal issues. She is still an avid cyclist and also enjoys hiking, Ultimate Frisbee, and soccer. Cheryl is the reason that you are reading this newsletter - she thought that a newsletter and updated website would help unite past and present Cycledelic team members and build support for the team. She can be contacted at azcharito@yahoo.com.

Brian McGrath(assistant coach 1992-1995). Graduated in 1995 with a BA in Political Science. He currently is the Director of Programs and State Relations for the Milton and Rose D. Friedman Foundation, a national public policy organization that promotes school choice and is based in Indianapolis, IN. He and his wife of 2-1/2 years, Leah, along with 5-year-old goldfish Pen, are anxiously expecting their first child in August. The new addition is prompting a springtime move from their fun, cool bungalow in the chic Broad Ripple bar district on the near north side of Indy to a family home in the northeast suburbs. As both Brian and Leah travel extensively for work, current hobbies include sleeping in on the weekends, taking walks, weight lifting (sometimes), debating politics, spending time with friends and using airline miles and free hotel stays for vacations. New hobbies expected to include getting less sleep, changing dirty diapers, learning baby talk, and doing many other things that cannot be comprehended at present. Brian can be contacted at bmcgrath@friedmanfoundation.org.

Hannah Sarnow (former rider, 1994). Graduated in 1994 with a BS in Mathematics, Minor in Economics, and Area Certificate in Environmental Studies. Completed her Masters Degree in Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 1996. She moved to Boston in the spring of 1997 to work for an environmental non-profit organization. Hannah currently resides in Cambridge, MA, with her cat, Peanut. She has been employed by Northeast Waste Management Officials Association (NEWMOA) as an Environmental Specialist for the past 3 years. She has many interests; occasional swing dancing and playing softball for a team called the EdSox (watch out, Red Sox!) keeps her busy. She is also a member of an all-womens cycling team called Dansko Love (you can check out their website at www.dlovecycling.com). Hannah has participated in many racing events on the East Coast and won her first circuit race in April 2003. Hannah can be contacted at
hsarnow@newmoa.org. You can also e-meow her cat Peanut at peanutsarnow@hotmail.com.

Alyssa (Shelsey) Silveus (former rider, 1990). Alyssa graduated in 1993 with a degree in Journalism and minors in Spanish, Philosophy, and Religion. Married Tony Silveus (former resident of Dodds, graduated 1990) in IUs Beck Chapel in 1996. Since graduation, she has lived in Iowa, Indiana, and Massachusetts. She recently moved to Rhode Island with husband Tony, son Jack (born Jan. 10th, 2003), and their dog Belle. She has had many hobbies, including mountain biking and making jewelry, but now spends a good portion of her spare time taking care of Jack and tackling home-improvement projects in the house they recently bought. She also works part-time for a social services agency assisting them with a fundraising campaign. Alyssa can be contacted via email at asilveus@netway.com.

Glenn Spiczak (Cycledelics coach, forever!). Glenn recently celebrated his 40th birthday (April 15th, 2004). Glenn said the party "was a complete surprise...food, friends, and beer at the bowling alley, playing darts and pool - what's better(besides cycling and Little 5)??" Glenn can be contacted at glenn.spiczak@uwrf.edu.

Heather (Martin) Spiczak (former rider, 1992-1993). Graduated in 1995 with a BS in Nursing. She currently resides in River Falls, WI, with husband Glenn and their two sons Logan (4) & Blake (1). Heather works part time for Heartland Home Health Care, spends time with sons Logan and Blake, and recently started taking spin classes at the local YMCA. Heather and her two sons made the trip to Alligator Point, FL, for the Cycledelics/Dodds Spring Break Training last year and they plan on going again this year to help support the teams. UPDATE: Summer 2004. Describes herself as a stay at home mom who works part time as a nurse with Heartland Homecare. Heather has been traveling to Florida with the Cycledelics, Dodds House, and Wright Cycling team members and coaches for spring break training. She supports the teams by preparing delicious well-rounded meals for all of the riders and coaches. This year she may go (by popular request of the riders) solo because, unfortunately, Coach Glenns spring break at University of Wisconsin does not coincide with IUs.

Dottie (Brown) Wood (former rider, 1990). Graduated in 1991 with an AS in Optometric Technology and BA in General Studies. She continued her education at Purdue, and graduated in 2000 with an AS in Computer Technology. She has worked as a software developer for about 8 years, and is currently employed by Bitwise Solutions, Inc. in Carmel, Indiana. She currently resides in Brownsburg, IN, with her husband Greg (who is also in the IT business) and infant daughter Madison, born February 18, 2004. The family is anticipating a move to Westfield, IN, winter 2004 when construction on their new house is scheduled to be completed. Dottie still enjoys cycling recreationally. She raced in Indianapolis at the Velodrome for a club called the Speedway Wheelman for about three years, and in her words, met with lukewarm success, but had fun. You can check out Dottie's personal website at www.dottiewood.com, and reach her via email at dottie.wood@comcast.net.

Lara Keeley Wosepka (former rider, 1990). Completed her studies at IU in 1992 with degrees in English and History. She attended Salem State College, where in 2004 she completed her BSN. Lara works as a nurse at Beverly Hospital on a medical floor with hopes of working in Labor and Delivery by summer 2005. She and husband Kent (married 10 years fall 2004) have three children: Jack (5), Rose (3), and Connor (15 months). They live in a small town about five miles from the ocean just north of Boston. Lara and her husband still ride when they can, sometimes with the kids in tow. Rose likes to ride in the bike trailer, but Jack and Connor are not too excited about it. Lara took Jack to his first Little 500 this year where she had a great time explaining the rules, exchanges, and types of bikes the riders used. She also contributed to the race article in the Summer 2004 Cycledelic Flyer. Lara can be contacted at l_keeley@yahoo.com.
